ARC Raiders 1.42.0: Anti-Cheat Report and Map Schedules

ARC Raiders 1.42.0 brings regional Map Condition timing, more Phantom Targets content, and an update on cheat and exploit enforcement.

ARC Raiders received live update 1.42.0 on August 21, combining new Phantom Targets content with a regional overhaul for Map Condition scheduling. The accompanying Fair Play report is the more consequential part for third-party software users: Embark says recent work with Anybrain and Denuvo Anti-Cheat has already led to action against many accounts.

Enforcement is the main technical takeaway

Embark did not publish detection signatures, ban totals, or details of an anti-cheat component shipped with this particular client build. It did, however, confirm that several improvements have been made with Anybrain and Denuvo Anti-Cheat over the preceding weeks. According to the studio, those changes helped it respond quickly to accounts running cheating software that had recently become popular.

The enforcement scope is broader than tools used during combat. Embark says it has improved its ability to identify accounts involved in economy exploits, with sanctions already being applied. Other active efforts target teaming and abuse of the matchmaking system.

The developer is also looking for ways to make permanent penalties more effective against repeat offenders. That includes making replacement accounts harder to obtain and discouraging banned players from returning. The announcement does not explain whether hardware identifiers play a role, so it should not be read as confirmation of a new HWID policy.

Map Conditions move away from one global clock

Version 1.42.0 replaces the universal Map Condition schedule with region-specific timing. Conditions will be offset around peak activity in each region, reducing the likelihood that local players consistently miss them because of time-zone differences.

The official website tracker has been adjusted for the new system. Community spreadsheets, alerts, or external tools built around the former global rotation may therefore report the wrong window until their logic is updated. This does not necessarily affect client compatibility, but it matters for event planning, loot routes, and any routine that assumes the same condition starts everywhere at once.

Phantom Targets enters its second phase

The event now follows a group of Wasps displaying abnormal behavior. They are producing strange sounds, flying unpredictably, and carrying unidentified technology while converging on the same location. Raiders are asked to help Shani investigate what is drawing them there.

The content side of the update includes:

  • a new Raider Project connected to Phantom Targets Part 2;
  • the Anomalia Outfit;
  • availability of the Tick Hunter Set;
  • new Twitch Drops featuring a Car Freshener and Ceramic Vase;
  • the announced winners of the rubber duck competition;
  • additional fixes not itemized technically in the announcement.

What this means for players using software

Treat the client patch and the enforcement report as two separate warning signs. A routine game update can move offsets or alter structures even when no new anti-cheat module is disclosed. At the same time, server-side or behavioral detection can remain effective even if an older tool still launches and appears functional.

Before starting a session, check the software update statuses and wait if a provider has marked its build as unavailable or under maintenance. The ARC Raiders software catalog is the relevant place to compare options for the game, but a catalog listing is not proof that a specific build has already been validated for 1.42.0.

Nothing in Embark’s statement establishes that players suddenly need an HWID spoofer, nor does it describe a new hardware-ban mechanism. There is therefore no basis for changing spoofing setups solely because of this post. The clearer risk is ongoing account enforcement covering cheats, repeat offenders, and economy exploits. A tool surviving one match without an immediate penalty should not be treated as evidence that it is undetected.
