Battlefield 6 Season 4: Tsuru Reef map and naval combat

REDSEC Season 4 in Battlefield 6: the largest map yet in Tsuru Reef, a dynamic wave system, the RHIB and RCB-90 boats, the return of Ranked Battle Royale and three new weapons — EF88, BROD 3 and VSSM.

Battlefield 6 launched REDSEC Season 4 on 21 July, and it is the wettest season the game has had. The naval theme is not decoration here: it reshapes the map, the vehicle roster and the combat mechanics themselves.

Tsuru Reef — the biggest Battlefield 6 map

The new arena is an island chain packed with luxury bungalows, dense tropical vegetation and jagged cliff edges. DICE call it the biggest all-out battleground in BF6: fighting happens on land, in the air and across the ocean around the islands. The map supports every mode, so it will show up in the normal rotation as well as in REDSEC.

The dynamic wave system

The season’s headline mechanic is the Dynamic Wave System. Waves on open water are not static: they physically break lines of sight and change firefight conditions. The tide can be used tactically — approaching a shoreline exactly when a crest hides your boat from a beach machine gun.

For a game built around long sightlines and open sectors, this is a rare case of terrain that stays alive and shifts during a round.

Vehicles and weapons

Naval vehicles:

  • 7.7m NSW RHIB — a fast, light boat with a mounted machine gun, built for speed and manoeuvre.
  • RCB-90 — a heavily armoured patrol boat, essentially a tank on water, made for holding a coastline.

New weapons:

  • EF88 — a bullpup assault rifle with an Australian pedigree, tuned for mid to long range.
  • BROD 3 — a versatile carbine supporting several calibers, at home in close quarters.
  • VSSM — a DMR with an integrated suppressor and subsonic ammo, with a full-auto option: quiet work plus the ability to open up when needed.

Separately, Ranked Battle Royale returns in REDSEC, with a competitive leaderboard and permanent seasonal rewards.

What this means for players with software

  • A seasonal patch is a large client update. Offsets shift and solutions need time to update. Check status on the Battlefield 6 page and in the updates section before your first session.
  • BF6 runs Javelin anti-cheat with Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 required. Advice to “turn off Secure Boot” simply will not launch the game. It is the same direction Delta Force took.
  • Ranked BR concentrates reports. Ranked attracts attentive players who watch the killcam and file reports. FOV and smoothing discipline matters more here than in casual rotation.
  • Waves change ESP logic. Highlighting through a wave crest looks especially suspicious on a recording — shooting a target physically hidden behind water is the easiest report you can hand someone.

Bottom line

Season 4 is structural rather than cosmetic: the largest map yet, living water as a gameplay element and three weapons covering every range band. For players with private software the rule is unchanged — sit out the first day after a patch, wait for a confirmed status, and only then queue into ranked.
