Marvel Rivals 20260813 patch: summer finale and hero fixes

Marvel Rivals patches on August 13, 2026 with no server downtime: Krakoan Reels Vol. 2, Lady Loki animations, Iron Fist and Rogue fixes — plus what the silent update means for third-party software.

Marvel Rivals gets its next update on August 13, 2026 at 09:00 UTC, and NetEase is shipping it without taking servers offline — patch and play. That convenience is exactly what makes these drops awkward for anyone running third-party software: the client changes under you with no maintenance window to sit out.

What ships with the patch

The headline content is the second half of the summer fishing event, plus the usual store rotation.

  • Krakoan Reels Vol. 2 runs from August 13 to September 24 (09:00 UTC) with a new pool of catches and rewards. Three beach-themed skins are in the loot table: “Coastal Cat” for Black Cat, “Summer Soldier” for Winter Soldier, and Star-Lord’s “Star Swimmer”. A rare hidden creature is also swimming in the new catch pool for completionists.
  • Summer Snapshot adds beach photo spots; taking and sharing a shot pays out 100 Units, solo or with a full squad.
  • Pop & Win puts Magik’s “Soul Surfer” and Scarlet Witch’s “Seaside Sorceress” on heavy discount for the week.

Store-side, the Storm “Sacred Skies” bundle is available until September 11, while the Loki “Lady Loki” bundle returns on a much shorter leash — it disappears again on August 28 at 02:00 UTC. There’s also a wave of chromas for Magik, Scarlet Witch, Storm, Black Cat, Winter Soldier and Star-Lord, new ultimate VFX for Black Widow, and emotes for The Thing and Devil Dinosaur.

Animations and bug fixes

Lady Loki now has a bespoke set of movement and combat animations, applied by default across all of her costumes. Players who prefer the original set can switch back through the gear icon next to the Equip button in the costume screen. Jeff the Land Shark also stops waddling in deep water at Hellfire Bay Beach and swaps into a swimming animation.

On the gameplay side the list is short:

  • Iron Fist no longer suffers abnormal displacement when using Yat Jee Chung Kuen during his Ultimate;
  • Rogue’s stolen abilities no longer break the in-match ability description text;
  • Iron Fist, Jeff and Ultron emotes work while moving in non-combat areas again;
  • Accessibility settings now save to the account properly;
  • a visual clash on Iron Fist’s ultimate effects has been cleaned up.

What this means for players using software

A no-downtime patch means there is no grace period. The launcher pulls the update, the match queue stays open, and your cheat build is suddenly facing a client it was never compiled against.

It is tempting to write this one off as pure cosmetics, but cosmetics are not free from a technical standpoint. New costumes, chromas, ultimate VFX and a fresh animation set for Lady Loki all touch models, skeletons and effect systems — precisely the data ESP and skeleton rendering read from. The executable is rebuilt regardless, so offsets and signatures can shift even when nothing about balance changed. Expect the usual tells if your build is stale: boxes drifting off targets, skeletons snapping to wrong bones, new costumes rendering with no highlight at all.

A sane routine for launch day:

  1. Don’t inject an old build on the assumption a cosmetic patch is harmless. A mismatched build is the fastest route to a crash, and crashes generate logs.
  2. Check the software update statuses first and wait until the current build is explicitly marked as supported.
  3. DMA and external setups aren’t automatically safe — character structure offsets in your config deserve a re-check after any content drop.
  4. Keep an HWID spoofer running for your first session back. Anticheat modules frequently ride along with client patches, and the first hours after an update are historically the worst time to be experimenting.

Build status per game version is tracked on our Marvel Rivals page. Skipping a day of ranked costs less than rebuilding an account.
