The most consequential part of the Once Human 3.0.5 notice is not one of its two new bug fixes. Starry Studio also addressed a combat change introduced on September 3, confirming that the ability to bypass certain dungeon mechanics with extremely high damage will not return.
The combat change was intentional after the fact
The September 3 update closed several potential vulnerabilities connected to the combat system. They were addressed to improve performance, strengthen the underlying system, and prepare it for later optimization. The developers did not announce the work beforehand because they expected it to be effectively invisible during normal play.
One correction had a much more obvious result. Previously, player damage could become high enough to skip some dungeon mechanics entirely. That behavior benefited top-end characters with exceptional stats, allowing them to avoid parts of an encounter rather than complete every intended phase.
The studio had originally considered leaving the bug in place until dungeon challenge content was expanded later in the year. Because the problem was tied to the security and performance of the wider combat system, however, the early fix will remain. Nothing in the notice identifies this as a direct nerf to a particular weapon or stat; the removed advantage came from how excessive damage interacted with encounter logic.
What patch 3.0.5 directly fixes
The actual 3.0.5 bug list is brief:
- Some monthly challenge tasks on permanent servers failed to gain progress. This correction had already gone live on September 6.
- The game could freeze when a player attempted to make a purchase from the shop preview screen.
Neither item represents a broad balance pass. The combat explanation matters more for players who built strategies around overwhelming a dungeon phase before its mechanics could run.
Why Gravity Integrator crates appeared to be missing
The developers also investigated reports about Legendary Mod Crates from Gravity Integrator. Their review found that the large majority of reported accounts had received the relevant crates, but the mode does not communicate its weekly limits clearly.
Once the weekly reward claim cap has been reached, players may still see reward prompts or guarantee progress. A crate cannot be claimed immediately at that point. If accumulated guarantee progress triggers after the cap, the Legendary Mod Crate is instead delivered through in-game mail in approximately one day.
Players waiting for that delivery should avoid transferring servers until it arrives, as a transfer may interfere with the reward process. Improvements intended to make reward feedback clearer and more immediate are planned for October.
What this means for players using software
This announcement does not report an anti-cheat update, a new ban system, or any change to HWID checks. There is therefore no source-based reason to assume that 3.0.5 suddenly requires a HWID spoofer. The meaningful compatibility concern is the combat-system work, particularly for tools that alter or depend on damage processing and encounter behavior. Configurations built around skipping phases through extreme damage should no longer be expected to produce the same result.
A small patch can still affect third-party tools if the client build changes and previously used offsets or structures move. Before joining a live session, check the relevant entry in the Once Human software catalog and confirm its current update status. There is no universal 24-hour waiting rule here: the practical signal is whether the specific build has been checked against the updated client, not how much time has passed.
