The game is in Early Access and its protection is evolving in real time: on July 18 the developers shipped Anti-Cheat Improvements: Phase One — the first systematic strike at cheaters. What matters:
- There is no BattlEye/EAC-grade kernel anti-cheat yet — the work is done by server-side checks, anomalous-behavior detection and player reports.
- Protection tightens in stages. The name “Phase One” openly promises sequels — public and cheap cheats die first.
- The game patches often. Every Early Access update requires a software update — check status on the cheat updates page before each session.

Player and NPC ESP
The foundation of extraction play. Enemy highlighting with name, distance, health, weapon in hands and ammo count — through dunes and structures. A visibility check separates those who can see you from those behind a rock. A separate layer covers NPCs and corpses, so mobs and body loot never get lost.
Loot and container ESP

SAND’s specific threats are mechanical: highlighting for mines, sentries and walkers (with energy and owner readouts) plus abandoned ships full of loot. Stepping on a mine en route to evac is the game’s most infuriating death; software simply removes it.

- Reports are the main threat. A young game has a small community: a raider who walks straight to the best loot gets remembered. Don’t beeline to every purple item.
- Hide the overlay on recordings. Shack’s OBS bypass covers streams and clips — but take Discord screenshots with a clean screen.
- Run the aimbot at maximum smoothness. Snappy flicks on killcam footage (if it’s ever added) are the classic report-driven ban trigger.

SAND is a rare moment in the genre: the game is already popular while the software market isn’t yet saturated. In extraction shooters an information edge converts directly into loot and stash value. But the easy-protection window is closing — Phase One is already out, and usage discipline now matters more than the feature list.
