THE FINALS Update 11.6.0 arrived on August 20 with a returning limited-time mode, a two-week reward event, and a group of targeted buffs. The balance pass is not a full meta reset, but it gives Medium players better reasons to revisit the Dematerializer and Guardian Turret while moving the AKM closer to its direct competitors.
Medium tools receive the biggest improvements
Several underperforming options have been made faster or less punishing to use:
- Guardian Turret now activates in 3 seconds rather than 3.5 and has 300 health instead of 280. Remotely retrieving it triggers a 10-second cooldown, down from 17.5 seconds. The 3-second hand-pickup cooldown and 35-second destroyed cooldown remain unchanged.
- Dematerializer charges recover in 15 seconds instead of 20. Its item raise time has also been removed, making the specialization respond immediately.
- Evasive Dash has a 6-second cooldown per charge, a modest reduction from 6.5 seconds.
- Lockbolt completes its reload animation in 1.75 seconds rather than 2.2. Ammunition is restored at 1.1 seconds into the animation instead of 1.3.
- AKM damage rises from 20 to 21. The developers said the rifle was popular but performing behind the FAMAS and FCAR.
The turret changes are the most substantial in practical terms. Faster deployment, additional health, and a much shorter remote-retrieval penalty make repositioning it less costly. The Dematerializer buff similarly supports more frequent map manipulation, while Evasive Dash only receives a small correction.
Orbital Hitters returns to the Arena
Orbital Hitters reworks the Heavy Hitters formula for a space-themed battleground and brings Sledgehammers back into play. Teams can knock opponents off the Arena, but poor movement can send the attacker over the edge instead. That makes spacing and environmental awareness central to the mode rather than secondary concerns.
The Deep Signal event runs alongside the LTM. Contracts provide up to three wheel tickets per day for two weeks, with more than 20 rewards available. Landing on a duplicate converts that position into a Golden Ticket; once collected, it guarantees that the following spin awards an item the player does not already own.
A separate Twitch campaign remains available through September 3. Watching eligible THE FINALS streams awards a sticker after one hour, a charm after two hours, and earrings after four hours. Sugar Shocker, Sugar Crasher, and Hullwalker cosmetic sets round out the store portion of the update.
The actual meta impact
Update 11.6.0 improves several choices without listing compensating nerfs for them. Medium players gain the clearest tactical benefit because both environmental control and turret play become more responsive.
AKM users get extra damage, but the announcement does not list changes to recoil, spread, or rate of fire. Existing weapon handling therefore has no stated reason to change. Orbital Hitters is the exception to the usual gun-focused flow, as its Sledgehammer combat rewards knockback opportunities and control of the Arena’s edges.
What this means for players using software
The announcement does not mention an anti-cheat update, new detection measures, or changes to HWID enforcement. There is consequently no factual reason to add a different HWID spoofer or assume that ban risk changed specifically because of 11.6.0. That absence, however, does not confirm that an older software build remains compatible.
Any new client build can shift offsets, signatures, or object structures used by third-party tools. Check the software update statuses before the first session instead of relying on compatibility reported for the previous build. The THE FINALS software catalog can be used to compare available builds, but an updated status should not be treated as a guarantee of account safety.
There is also no patch-note basis for rebuilding an AKM recoil profile, since only damage was changed. ESP and other features should be checked for compatibility again after updating the client.
