SCUM received hotfix 1.3.3.1.145413 on August 27, targeting problems left behind by the August update. Rather than changing weapon balance or survival systems, this build focuses on crashes, TEC1 quest behavior, construction bugs and server administration. It also closes a missing-collision spot near the secret bunker in C3.
Stability and crash reporting
One specific client crash could occur after a player opened the Manual and then accessed the Journal through the Inventory. That sequence should now work normally.
The update also introduces a different crash-reporting flow. Players can add context and submit a report after the game closes unexpectedly, while dedicated server crash reports are now delivered automatically. The announcement describes this as a diagnostic change; it does not list an anti-cheat update or claim that a new detection system has been deployed.
TEC1 progression and map access
Several fixes are concentrated around TEC1 Research Facilities and the Apex Mutant Bear encounter. Barbed wire surrounding the facilities once again damages characters, and the bear should no longer become stuck in an elevated position when a player blocks its route. Its aggression state has also been corrected so that it does not remain focused on the player who triggered it.
Quest progression received equally practical repairs:
- leaving and returning to the facility no longer prevents the “Enter A Block” objective from advancing;
- a server restart should preserve Apex Hunt progress;
- event weapons can no longer be used to complete quests during an active event.
Outside TEC1, developers restored ground collision near the C3 secret bunker. Anyone relying on the gap to crawl beneath the terrain should expect that route to be closed after installing the hotfix.
Base building, Sandbox and known issues
The smaller fixes cover several unrelated but persistent annoyances. Fruit Salad once again accepts Crab Apples, Dates, Plums and Watermelons. Players can place a second Triangle Twig Foundation on the other side of a Twig Wall, and metal Triangle Foundations can be upgraded to brick. A lock removed from a Barba while it is in water now returns to the player instead of vanishing.
For custom servers, base decay should work inside circular custom regions. Sandbox Mode has regained the fish-spawning command and the ability to spawn DLC items already owned by the user.
Two service issues are still open. Some previously earned Twitch Drops remain inaccessible because of a backend fault, although resolving it will not require another download. The in-game browser may also omit certain servers; direct connection by IP remains the official workaround for affected players.
What this means for players using software
There is no announced anti-cheat revision here, so this hotfix alone is not a reason to change HWID or add a spoofer. It is still a new client build, however, and software that relies on offsets, injection or an overlay may fail even when the patch notes only discuss bug fixes. Old compatibility should never be assumed from the absence of anti-cheat notes.
Check the software update status page before launching a previous build. If SCUM begins crashing, test the updated client without attached software first; that separates a game-side regression from an outdated hook or offset set. The SCUM software catalog provides the relevant game listings, but use only options explicitly marked for the current client rather than trying to repair binary incompatibility through aim or ESP settings.
