Cheat Not Launching — Advanced Troubleshooting Checklist
Complete checklist when a cheat won't launch: antivirus, Windows Defender, .NET, Visual C++, compatibility, admin rights, drivers and other causes.
If you've followed the basic steps (disabled antivirus, Defender, firewall) but the software still won't launch — use this advanced checklist. It covers all possible causes and solutions.
Block 1: System Requirements
1.1. Windows Version
Most cheats only work on Windows 10/11 64-bit. Check:
- Press Win + R, type
winver, press Enter - Compare the version with the product requirements
Details: how to check Windows build.
1.2. UEFI Boot Mode
Many programs require UEFI (not Legacy). Check: how to check BIOS mode.
1.3. GPT Disk Format
Some cheats only work on GPT disks. Check: how to check disk format.
Block 2: Antivirus & Windows Protection
2.1. Third-Party Antivirus
Completely uninstall (not just disable) your third-party antivirus:
- Kaspersky, Avast, ESET, Dr.Web, Norton, McAfee, Bitdefender, AVG
- Control Panel → Programs and Features → Uninstall
- Restart your PC
2.2. Windows Defender
Disable completely:
- Tamper Protection — disable first (otherwise settings revert)
- Real-time protection
- Cloud-delivered protection
- Automatic sample submission
2.3. Windows Firewall
Disable for both private and public networks.
2.4. SmartScreen
App & browser control → Reputation-based protection settings → disable all.
2.5. Core Isolation
Windows Search → "Core isolation" → disable Memory integrity → restart PC.
2.6. Defender Exclusions
Add the entire folder with the software to Defender exclusions (Windows Security → Virus & Threat Protection → Manage settings → Exclusions).
Block 3: Conflicting Software
3.1. Anti-Cheats
Uninstall all third-party anti-cheats:
- Faceit Anti-Cheat — completely uninstall the client
- Riot Vanguard (Valorant) — uninstall via Programs and Features
- ESEA Client
- Any other game anti-cheats
After removal — restart your PC.
3.2. Screen Recording Software
Some cheats conflict with:
- OBS Studio (overlays)
- GeForce Experience ShadowPlay
- Discord Overlay
- Steam Overlay
Try closing them before launching.
3.3. MSI Afterburner / RivaTuner
These utilities work at the driver level and may conflict. Close them completely (including from the system tray).
Block 4: Missing Components
4.1. Visual C++ Redistributable
Many programs require Visual C++ 2015–2022. Download and install both variants (x64 and x86):
Download Visual C++ Redistributable
4.2. .NET Framework / .NET Runtime
Some loaders require .NET:
- .NET Framework 4.8 — for older loaders
- .NET 6/7/8 Runtime — for newer ones
4.3. DirectX
Install the latest DirectX End-User Runtime:
Block 5: Permissions & Launch
5.1. Run as Administrator
Required: right-click → Run as administrator.
5.2. Folder Path
Make sure the path to the program:
- Contains no non-ASCII characters (Cyrillic, special symbols)
- Contains no spaces
- Is not on the Desktop or in the Downloads folder
Recommended path: C:\Soft\ or D:\Programs\
5.3. Unblock the File
Windows may block downloaded files:
- Right-click the file → Properties
- At the bottom find "Security: This file came from another computer..."
- Check "Unblock" → OK
Block 6: Drivers & Virtualization
6.1. GPU Drivers
Update or reinstall your GPU drivers:
- NVIDIA: download driver
- AMD: download driver
6.2. Hyper-V
Some cheats don't work with Hyper-V enabled. How to disable: Hyper-V disable guide.
6.3. Virtualization
Some programs require hardware virtualization (VT-x / AMD-V) enabled, others require it disabled. How to check: virtualization guide.
Block 7: Network & Connection
7.1. VPN
If the loader can't connect to the authorization server — try a VPN. Some ISPs block cheat authorization servers.
7.2. DNS
Change DNS to Google (8.8.8.8) or Cloudflare (1.1.1.1):
- Control Panel → Network Connections
- Adapter Properties → IPv4 → Properties
- Use the following DNS:
8.8.8.8and8.8.4.4
