BSG ran another episode of TarkovTV — the studio’s flagship audio-video show where Nikita and the team reveal Escape from Tarkov roadmap items every few months. This episode was especially packed: a tease for a new map, a Prestige-system rework, Tarkov Arena content, and tarcoin economy announcements.
Icebreaker — new map
The big tease is Icebreaker, a map BSG have been working on for a while. From what was shown: an ice location, partially interior (inside an icebreaker ship or arctic base — the footage isn’t fully clear), focused on close-quarter combat. The show drew comparisons to older Tarkov Arena ship interiors, but with a darker and more atmospheric coat.
A release date wasn’t named, but Nikita said directly “it’s close” — which typically means “in the next big patch.”
Prestige 1-4 rewritten
The most important change for active raiders — a rework of the Prestige system. Currently Prestige is a progress wipe with exclusive rewards (skins, profile effects). The changes:
- Prestige 1-2 — reduced playtime requirements
- Prestige 3 — added very specific quest requirements (instead of a general EXP threshold)
- Prestige 4 — now requires seasonal tasks tied to the current game phase
BSG promise a full article on the official site — we recommend checking it directly if you plan to push Prestige this season.
Tarkov Arena — QBZ-191 and new equipment
Tarkov Arena gets a major content update:
- Profile selection screen with a seasonal character — a new UX that highlights progression more clearly
- Seasonal modifiers — each season will introduce its own Arena rules (economy mods, weapon pool, spawn logic)
- Expansions hub — a unified menu for all expansions
- Tarcoin (WIP) — working title for an ecosystem in-game currency, still in development
- QBZ-191 — a new Chinese assault rifle, entering Arena first (and likely main EFT later)
- New equipment pieces — armor, helmets, backpacks
What this means for players
A big update with many moving parts always means:
- Anti-cheat updates. BSG typically push fresh rules alongside patches. Software may go on “maintenance” for 24–72 hours.
- New maps break radar/ESP. If Icebreaker hits main EFT — old coordinate bindings won’t work on it until your software updates.
- Tarcoin — an experimental currency. Using economy-tied software may become more visible to anti-cheat heuristics if BSG ties tarcoin to web3 infrastructure.
For buyers of our EFT Arena software — we recommend staying in touch with developers via Telegram and avoiding matches in the first 24 hours after any major patch.
Bottom line
TarkovTV was substantive this time — BSG laid out their strategy for the coming months. Icebreaker and the reworked Prestige are what the community has been asking for. QBZ-191 is a nice bonus for Arena players. Waiting for the patch.
