Hell Let Loose received Update 21 on September 22, bringing changes across both the infantry and armor layers. Rifle grenades headline the new equipment, but the patch is broader than a weapon drop: it also introduces Conquest, additional loadouts and fire selectors while revising anti-tank combat.
Infantry gets a new long-range explosive option
Three existing rifles now have grenade-launching variants: the Karabiner 98k with Schiessbecher, the M1 Garand with M7 launcher, and the SMLE No.1 Mk III with a cup discharger. Their ammunition depends on the role and loadout, with HE, smoke and anti-tank rounds among the available choices.
The design is built around trade-offs rather than a straightforward upgrade. Rifle grenades reach farther than hand-thrown explosives and detonate on impact, but they take longer to load and are awkward at close range. HE rounds use the same blast radius as a standard fragmentation grenade. The anti-tank ammunition has light armor penetration, can threaten Recon and Light Tanks, damage heavier vehicles’ tracks, and damage Tier 1 player-built structures other than Garrisons.
Other additions widen the list of weapon profiles the game must handle. Soviet forces now have the ROKS 2 flamethrower, while the US receives the M1903A3 Springfield bolt-action rifle. The existing American sniper rifle has also been visually updated as the M1903A4 Springfield.
Anti-tank guns should be easier to bring onto target
Buildable AT guns received a substantial handling pass. Barrel traverse rises from 1 to 3 degrees per second, pitch speed doubles from 1 to 2, and the weapon turn rate increases from 1 to 10 degrees per second. Each faction’s gun also gets its own horizontal and vertical aiming limits.
The updated damage values differ across the four listed weapons. The M1 57mm sits at 460, followed by the QF 6-Pounder at 470, the ZiS-2 at 475 and the PAK 40 at 485. These values do not tell the whole story, since Update 21 also adjusts tank ammunition capacity, HE splash, smoke launchers and vehicle fuel costs.
That combination may make prepared AT positions more responsive without removing the importance of placement. It also creates another variable for tank crews, which will need to account for guns that can correct their aim considerably faster than before.
What this means for players using software
This is a wide client update, not a small server-side balance tweak. It touches weapons, loadouts, vehicles, UI, progression, servers and nine maps. Any of those areas can affect offsets, signatures, entity definitions or weapon-state handling used by third-party tools.
The sensible approach is to check the software update status page before starting a session, particularly during the first day after rollout. A build marked for the previous client should not be assumed to work simply because the overlay opens.
Weapon-aware aim or recoil features may need explicit profiles for the new Springfield, flamethrower and rifle-grenade variants. Fire selectors add another state that automation must identify correctly, while ESP or radar tools may require updated mappings for newly introduced entities. Existing rifle settings should not be blindly reused for impact-detonated grenades with different handling.
The supplied changelog does not announce an anti-cheat revision, but that does not rule out unlisted changes. Update 21 alone is therefore not enough reason to add or replace a HWID spoofer without further information. The immediate issue is client compatibility, and players should wait for the developer of their specific build to confirm support.
Once compatibility has been established, the Hell Let Loose software catalog for the current game version is the relevant place to compare available builds. Avoid testing an outdated release on a primary account merely to see whether the new client accepts it.
